Extend to support diagrams in Jira issue descriptions?

Hi! To reduce internal security review of two separate plugins, is it feasible/reasonable to think about extending this plugin to also support Mermaid in code blocks inside Jira issue descriptions?

I have explored this idea, and there is a catch - it will require a new permission, and therefore a new major version release. That means a lot of current installations will be left behind (admins are usually not eager to update apps). It also means surface area for attack for the app will be increased as it would be able to query data from Jira, while running in Confluence, and vice versa (I think).

I think it might be better if just build 2 separate apps from single code base - one for Jira and another for Confluence. WDYT? Would it be sufficient to solve your problem?
