We have to keep some APIs for LibreSSL but we can drop any related tests for OpenSSL 1.1.1. So it should build
fine but no support.

Since the password field in the generic URI is now deprecated (RFC 3986) we should consider disabling the field
or remove the struct pl password field in struct uri.

It seems that @alfredh and @sreimers are very productive these days with cleanup steps. Is there still something in your mind which should be done for the major release?

I'll start to prepare the release branches soon, because tomorrow I will be out of office.
