"Click to copy" buttons not working

Hi there,

firstly, amazing application, exactly what my friends and I need!
There is a problem when i click on:

• 📋 clipboard in join link
• permalink next to messages: ... and 🔗

and pretty much anywhere else i noticed "click to copy" buttons in GUI.

Tested in Brave and Safari.
It's a pitty because this functionality would be a perfect to fork off threads and create new channels to discuss some specific messages

Could you tell me which versions of Brave and Safari you are using as well as the OS you tested this on?
Checking your browser's console for error messages could also help me investigate this.

I did a quick test with latest Chromium (on Linux), Safari (on MacOS and iOS) and Firefox (on Linux) and could copy both message and join links.

i am using mac os tahoe 26.3.1, brave version 1.90.121, latest safari.

i tried to reboot machine just to be sure.

could this have something to do with:

i am testing instance of campfire on my vps with bare ip and without TLS.
my setup command was:

1. clone repo
2. built Dockerfile
3. run it with:

docker run --rm -d \
--name campfire \
--publish 0.0.0.0:3000:3000 \
--volume ./data:/rails/storage \
--env SECRET_KEY_BASE="$(openssl rand -hex 64)" \
--env DISABLE_SSL=1 \
campfire

Functionality-wise everything else seems to work correctly. Tried chatting with a friend of mine, it worked. Messages are stored in SQLite and file blobs in storage.

EDIT: I tried to inspect element to see if maybe some requests are being blocked, but as I suspected there are no requests when i click on copy button since it is client side functionality.

Ah, that's it.

The Clipboard API is only available in secure contexts - localhost or via https.

When you set up TLS, copy should work properly.
