How to use VAPID keys?

Hi all,
I have generated vapid keys and configured a campfire instance.
I enabled push notification on my iOS, but I do not get notifications.
My web site is served via https:// and I enabled notifications from iOS/Settings/Application/Campfire

Do I need a third party services to get vapid push notifications?
If not, how can I debug VAPID push notifications?

No, VAPID / WebPush allows you to do push notifications without other dependencies.
If you configured the keys right then things should just work.

Is the bell icon in the top-left of the screen crossed out for you?
Is it a bell, a bell with an @ or an eye?

Do you see any errors in the browser's console or in the logs?
Sometimes people accidentally switch the public and private keys around.

It works now but not for every user....
A question: I had trouble generating the vapid keys.
I am running my campfire instance it under docker with a redirect on internal port served by nginx (nginx ssl -> 3000->80 on campfire)

Every time I try to generate a vapid keys, it seems to get stuck, it is not clear to me what is trying to do....

So I resolved using a pair of keys generated on a instance I fired just for this goal locally :) and throw away that instance

Are the keys linked to the instance or they are just crypto keys? Is this approach acceptable?

They are just crypto keys, you can generate them using a throw-away container and use them on another instance. The approach is acceptable.

Ok thanks, I will try to understand why it works only for my admin client. The non-admin client seems unable to listen to activate notifcation to the public channel. No errors I see in the log, but I am in production
