Is there a plan to add google pprof output format support

Google pprof is a data format dedicated to representing profiling sample data. Data is gzip compressed, so it is very suitable for storing on disk。
I would greatly appreciate it if you could consider to add it support.

Bump on this. You can accomplish this today by dumping to raw output and then passing it through pprofutils, but the result is not as rich as natively building pprof profile.protos.

If there's interest, I'd be happy to make a PR.

Slight off-topic but there is a draft PR for open telemetry profiling support. #783

It would be nice to receive some comments and feedback and understand if otel support may be considered for merge so that w can finish work on PR.

Obviously pprof is way more mature at the moment and have more tooling and it would be nice to have as well.

Draft implementation. Seems to work so far but needs more features (if acceptable for upstream)
