Note on the regex pattern: widened from a plain 4-digit suffix to ^[A-Z]+\d{4,8}[A-Z]?$ because one record uses a clinical-trial NCT identifier as its local ID (NCT05835999, 8 digits). Verified against all 354 study SIDs in the corpus: 0 non-matches, 0 duplicates, 0 lowercase.
