Connections fail when reconnecting

I get a generic "Connection Failed: Input/output error" whenever I try to reconnect my already paired and trusted devices. If I unpair and forget them, and then go through the whole setup process again, they'll work for a bit. Unsure what is happening or why

I am able to connect using the bluetoothctl commandline, too, if that helps narrow down anything.
