I am currently looking at proper backup options that can back up and restore files but also restore file attributes such as date created. From testing, Restic is so far the only option can do this on Windows. I have tried Kopia and Duplicacy which restore files fine, but set the date created to the current date of restore, not when the file was actually created.
Will Borg2 support restoring file attributes as well as the file itself? I am aware that Linux does not allow setting a created date on files or folders or so it seems.
