Is it possible to store a standard key?

Instead of all that sed-shit ... can a standard key be stored/retrieved?

Currently, an OpenSSH key is stored by copying a multi-line key and pasting it into a single-line field. After retrieving the single-line key, it has to be turned back into a standard multi-line key, so that "ssh-add - <<< $(KEY)" works.

If a multi-line key can be stored, CPU cycles can be spared.
