State of Fabulous?

Hello 👋🏼 I hate to ask the dreaded question, but is Fabulous still in the land of the living? I see mention of Fabulous 3 on the Twitter account back in Jan 2024, but it all seems quite quiet around here. I was hoping there was a viable F# xplat mobile app development game still in town... What's the scoop?

Would be a real shame and a blow to F# in general if Fabulous faded away.
That said, absolutely no blame to the maintainers — full understanding if life and priorities take over. Open source is hard, and the work done so far has been amazing.

Still, there’s hope — even if the last Twitter post was back in Jan 2024, the prerelease 3.0.0-pre23 dates June 2025.

@dsyme Thank you for the kind words.

Given where things are today, I think it would indeed be best for Fabulous to find a new maintainer. I haven’t been able to give the project the time and energy it really deserves for a while now, and I believe this is also the case for Edgar.

If someone is interested in stepping in, I’d be very happy to help with the transition and get them up and running in any way I can.

I’ve really enjoyed working on Fabulous and contributing to the community over the years, and I’m grateful for everything that’s come out of it.

For what it's worth, I'm just doing a side project app and have decided to see how far I can get with Avalonia and F#. My use case is certainly not a vital one. I'm always a little sad when these F# options appear to lose momentum, but having no bandwidth myself to get involved, I fully understand the pressure of all the things!

I'd like to arrange new maintainers (I'll be involved with @MiroslavHustak) and need to make sure we have all publishing rights to all packages, doc sites etc.

Also we noticed https://fabulous.dev has expired. We can move the docs elsewhere or maybe you can transfer the domain to me.
