Unable to DIFF any component "No components retrieved from org".

Summary
Connected to a sandbox ( I tried multiple sandboxes). When attempting to DIFF This Source from Org, I receive the error message "No components retrieved from org".

I am able to successfully deploy components created in VS Code to the connected Org

Steps To Reproduce:
RUN DIFF (any file).

Expected result
DIFF of selected file is shown in VS CODE.

Actual result
Retrieving 1 component for diff...
No components retrieved from org

Additional information

We already desinstalled/reinstalled all the Salesforce Plugins.
Deleted the extension Folder.
And confirmed the Salesforce Metadata Tracking is off:

Salesforce Extension Version in VS Code: 66.14.2

Salesforce CLI Version: 66.14.2

OS and version: Windows 11 Enterprise ( Version 10.0.26200 Build 26200)

VS Code version: 1.123.0

the error will happen on any file type?
can you run SFDX: GenerateProjectInfo

anything special about the files you're trying to use (ex: are they in a normal package directory? can you retrieve them normally?)

Nothing special about the metadata we want to DIFF, we tried Classes, Flows, and Flexipages.

We can retrieve normally, but we can't DIFF.
