Hi there, the best page about the RECAP coverage is here: https://www.courtlistener.com/help/coverage/recap/ The short version is that we collect it from every source we can think of, and thousands of people contribute things without us doing much analysis of what's in the system. It's more than 400M records, and usually the best way to see if it has what you need is to do a little research using the search engine. |

Hi, quick question on data availability and coverage.
I'm working with the CourtListener bulk dockets data (case-level records). What we’re trying to clarify is the relationship between bulk dockets and downstream data.
Specifically:
I understand that the presence of a docket does not imply entries or documents exist, and that RECAP coverage is partial and user-contributed. The reason I'm asking is simply to understand coverage at scale. While we can probe the API to estimate this, it feels inefficient if coverage information already exists or can be summarized more directly.
Thanks, and appreciate all the work that goes into CourtListener/RECAP.
