If I create a own task I do not get email subscriptions if someone comments the task.

If I understand the doc right, there should be an auto subscription:

Thanks for the report. This is working as currently implemented, but the documentation is wrong — there is no auto-subscription for task creators.

What the code does today

Subscriptions are rows in the subscriptions table, and notifications are only sent to users who have such a row. There are exactly two ways one gets created:

• explicitly, via the subscribe endpoint (the bell icon in the task/project detail view)
• automatically, when a user is assigned to a task (pkg/models/task_assignees.go:262)

Task creation (createTasks in pkg/models/tasks.go:1024) only sets created_by_id on the task — it never inserts a subscription. The comment notification listener (pkg/models/listeners.go:565) then iterates over subscribers only, so the creator is skipped unless they subscribed manually, were assigned, or were @mentioned.

This has never behaved differently — no regression in 2.5.0.

Duplicate

This is already tracked as #2692 ("Task creator should be auto-subscribed to their own task"), which is open. Recommending this one be closed as a duplicate of it — please follow along there. Note the discussion in #2692 about making it a user setting, since people creating tasks for others may not want to be subscribed to everything they create.

Workaround in the meantime

Click the bell icon on the task (or on the whole project) to subscribe, or assign yourself to the task — assignment subscribes you automatically.

The docs page stating "You are always subscribed if you created the task" lives in the website repository and needs to be corrected separately.
