Question about the project's maintenance status

First of all, thank you for your time and contributions to this project.
I've been looking through the recent commits and issues and noticed that there hasn‘t been a new release since 2023. I’m curious about the current maintenance status. We greatly appreciate your work and are looking forward to hearing from you.

This package was discussed on a recent episode of TalkPython. It seems very strange that it's being promoted without any ongoing maintenance since 2023.

It's further mystifying that the package is not typed and has no plans to add type information. The stub package is broken as well. #202 (comment)

This is not a very acceptable state of things, and I'm surprised it was featured on TalkPython.

Hey @dusktreader. I ran across your comment coincidentally. Covering this project was something I debated for awhile. I decided that it's "done enough" that even in its current stasis state of being, it would bring enough value to enough people. So often the tradeoff is between @lru_cache or full on Redis servers. This project fills an important gap.

But yes, it does suck that it's not getting more love.
