Also see enhancement tracking for those that see high memory usage: |

Tested 1.3.0-dev and the memory usage is low, under heavy load ( e.g. creating the thumbnails for hundred of file ) the usage increase and when the load decrease the memory are still cached. With this version the cache is recycled so open the same folder again doesn't increase the memory usage so much. The plot is showing FBQ with no load then a normal load and finally a very high load ( many thumbnails to generate ). In both cases I flushed manually the memory cache. |

just out of curiosity, what was the common filetypes for the previews. different files use different methods to perform thumbnail generation.
pdfs, text based documents
office files via onlyoffice
videos
images (not heic/heif)
heic/heif
What was the most common type here while memory increased?

I'm seeing a lot of different numbers about RAM and memory requirements.
My expectation is that most sources within a reasonable size may use up to 500MB of RAM, but many are reporting several gigabytes for normal filesystems, which is not what i'd expect.
Please help me understand the user base and your requirements by voting how much RAM your installation uses.
Also if on the higher end of the spectrum, comment below how many files/folders you have too ... Trying to get a better general gauge.
Tip: if using docker, check
