Optional Vim Mode Support (Inspired by evil-helix)

I wanted to know if there is any planning to add optional vim mode support to helix? I have recently come across usagi-flow/evil-helix, a third-party project that brings Vim-like functionality to Helix. I found it also provide a configuration option to disable it vim mode.

I came from vim, I liked the defaults of helix but I can't get used to it's behavior which has been a turn off for me. So I like what evil-helix has done introducing evil mode with optional config toggle.
I understand that helix has a unique design philosophy but vim bindings are widely supported so an optional vim mode support could make it adoption friendly. Could such support become part of the upstream roadmap in any time?
