Assist stays in listening state after response on Samsung Galaxy A55

Description:
Home Assistant Android Companion App remains in listening state after Assist has answered.

Environment:

• Device: Samsung Galaxy A55
• Companion App: 2026.6.5-full
• Home Assistant Core: 2026.8.3

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open Home Assistant app.
2. Start Assist.
3. Ask "What time is it?"
4. Wait for response.

Expected:
Assist finishes and microphone closes.

Actual:
After the response, the microphone remains green and Assist shows it is still listening.
The app does not respond to further voice commands.
Pressing "Stop listening" immediately ends the session.

Additional information:

• Happens with both Home Assistant and Home Assistant Cloud assistants.
• Voice Preview Edition works correctly and exits listening mode normally.
• Assist debug shows STT, Conversation and TTS complete successfully with action_done.
• Clearing cache and verifying microphone permissions did not help.

Unfortunately I'm not able to reproduce this issue.

Does the issue occur with any question or specifically this one?

The server could indicate to the app it should continue listening, although it shouldn't for this question. Can you check on your server whether it did? Replicate the issue and then go to Settings > Voice assistants > click on the three dots next to the used Assist assistant > Debug. This should show your conversation from just now; if you expand the raw result you should see continue_conversation in there.

Additional observations:

• The microphone indicator remains active indefinitely until "Stop listening" is pressed.
• No new speech is recognized while the microphone is shown as active.
• Voice Preview Edition using the same Home Assistant instance and assistant exits listening mode correctly.

I checked the debug output.

The intent result contains:

continue_conversation: false

and

response_type: action_done

The pipeline completes successfully and run-end is emitted.

Despite this, the Android Companion App remains in the listening state indefinitely after the TTS response has finished. No additional speech is recognized while the microphone remains green.

This behavior is reproducible with both:

• Home Assistant
• Home Assistant Cloud

Voice Preview Edition connected to the same Home Assistant instance exits listening mode correctly.
