adjusting the limit of returns in search_entities parameters

in the ha_search_entities call, where is the "limit" value coming from - I find I need it to be larger sometimes - is it something I can control from the environment, or elsewhere?

I can see that it works to add to the prompt something like "with a limit of 20 entities", but is there a place we can set a larger default?

There's no configurable default for this. The limit value is set by the LLM each time it calls the tool, based on the schema and whatever context it has. Since you've already found that adding "with a limit of 20 entities" to your prompt works, the best approach is to bake that into your system prompt so you don't have to repeat it every time. With smaller models, that kind of explicit instruction is really the most reliable way to control tool parameters.
