Neither. uBlacklist works at the browser level by manipulating the DOM to hide matching results from search engine result pages.

That's bit of additional work ,right?
Why not catch it at source on HTTPS or DNS level itself?

I don't know if uBlock triggers the filters at (browser) DNS but for HTTPS the format is re: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=29546690. So peep can make & store their own filters in [uBlock] 'My filters' if they want quicker, deeper-level filtering. (I had some in my uBO leftover from before discovering uBL; this thread got me to transfer them over to uBL.)

Here's the thing though if using that 'HTTPS method':-- how do you quickly, via UI, UNfilter a block? Or see which specific filters are triggered on a results page?

There might be an addon somewhere that interconnects uBlock's lowlevel filtering together with uBlacklist-style UI functionalities, but I haven't come across any. If anyone finds some, let us know.
