I was introduced to SoundThread this afternoon; I have done nothing else since but play with it. I have not been so delighted and enervated by a software product in years (and I have been using software seriously since the start of the 1960s). One idea that has grabbed my attention is to wonder if the technology in CDP could be used to create a replacement for Brian Davies’ Click-Repair product. In my opinion this was, by a wide margin, the most effective method of identifying and reducing noise in vinyl recordings for consumer use. Sadly Brian passed away a few years ago so nobody since has been able to get a working licence key and those who have unfortunately misplaced their key have lost access to the product. Judging by the support forums of consumer level products for digitising vinyl, together with the significantly increasedsale of vinyl recordings in the last few years, I would have thought there is some demand for a noise reduction application as good as Click Repair. Any comments?
