[IOS] redeem offer codes in the app is not triggering receipt validation flow

When the Customers redeem offer codes in the app, once the payment is completed, the store.when() flow is not triggered so the receipt validation is not executed, the only way to process the payment is to close the app and open again.

Is there a way to send the receipt validation flow after a Customers redeem offer codes in the app?

Thanks for reporting this issue with offer code redemptions. I've investigated how the plugin handles offer code redemption and transaction observation.

How StoreKit Code Redemption Works

When you use presentCodeRedemptionSheet(), it displays Apple's UI for redeeming offer codes. After a user successfully redeems a code and completes the purchase:

1. StoreKit processes the transaction in the background
2. Normally, this would trigger the paymentQueue:updatedTransactions: method in the native code
3. This would then bubble up to JavaScript as an "APPROVED" transaction event

This is the same flow that happens with regular purchases, and the transaction observer pattern should handle it automatically.

The Issue

It appears there's a timing or synchronization issue specific to code redemption. The transaction gets processed by StoreKit, but the plugin isn't getting notified about it until the app is restarted.

This could be happening because:

1. Code redemption might be handled asynchronously by StoreKit, and the transaction update might be delayed
2. The sheet's dismissal might be happening before the transaction is fully processed
3. Your event handlers not being registered(?)

Debugging Steps

To better understand what's happening:

1. Could you check your device logs (using Console.app or Xcode) to see if the paymentQueue:updatedTransactions: callback is being triggered after code redemption?
2. If the native callback is firing but JavaScript isn't receiving it, this points to an issue with event propagation in the plugin
3. If the native callback isn't firing at all until app restart, this suggests a StoreKit issue with how code redemption transactions are handled

Set the verbosity level to DEBUG in the plugin to collect as much information as possible.

Temporary Solution

Since the transaction should eventually be processed by the transaction observer, a workaround is to:

1. Force a receipt refresh after presenting the redemption sheet
2. Process any pending transactions

You can implement this with:
