This could fail if you are using GitHub OAuth, the user has connected to GitHub in their Profile, and the GitHub OAuth token that is stored in Redis is no longer considered valid by GitHub. On the GitHub end, this is configured in GitHub under Settings -> Developer Settings -> OAuth Apps.

I am using an OAuth App that I created in 2023. I have never experienced an issue with the token, or an issue with the GitHub Branch dropdown not working.

I could see this happening if you clicked the "Revoke all user tokens" button in the OAuth App configuration screen, but your docassemble Redis still had the old user token.

Anyway I will keep thinking about how I might reproduce this.
