🐾 Home Assistant Automation: Petlibro Firmware Update Alerts with Presence & TTS

I built an automation in Home Assistant that detects when any Petlibro pet feeder or smart fountain has a firmware update available—and instantly notifies the right people, using both mobile alerts and Alexa text-to-speech.

✅ What this automation does

• Triggers whenever a firmware update is available for any feeder or fountain (monitors all our Petlibro update entities).
• Maps the update entity to a friendly device name (“Mittens’s RFID feeder”, “Bedroom Dockstream fountain”, etc).
• Checks if certain people (person.example_1 or person.example_2) are home using presence detection.
• Sends mobile notifications to the relevant users (home or away).
• If either is home, a TTS announcement is made on an Alexa-enabled device.
• Executes all notifications in parallel for speedy alerting.
