TuYa w506 beok not compatible with VTherm - don't use it #1760
|
Hi @jmcollin78, I have a question. My Tuya thermostat has the following mode: After importing it into Versatile, I get: hvac_mode: heat_cool but not in hvac_modes: off, auto, heat, cool I'm wondering if there's a way to set a mode with heat_cool on the original one? I also have an entity on the Tuya thermostat that returns hot or cold. Could the mode be based on that? I tried manually setting a mode, but as soon as I update the values, I get an error because heat_cool isn't among the allowed modes. |

Hello, your device is then not compatible with Vtherm. So sorry. What is the model of TuYA thermostat ? |

Okay, I understand what you mean, you're right. I was just wondering if it was possible to add it as a non-mandatory optional setting |

not so easy. I don't want to implement all kind of specific behavior of devices. I use only "standard" devices. Else this will be not manageable.
What you can do is a wrapper. Maybe it is possible to create a template thermostat and implement you specific thermostat in this template thermostat. I'm not sure it is possible with thermostat. This is possible with switch, but not sure with thermostat.
You are not the first one that cannot use VTherm with a Tuya device. There are always not standard device with bad quality. You should avoid it each time it is possible.
