Foliate now insists on showing simultaneously 3 pages instead of 2, and alters font size spontaneously

Describe the bug
Foliate used to show simultaneously 2 pages of a book (e.g. an epub file). Now it shows 3 pages, which is confusing, and makes font size too small. At the bottom, there are only 2 page number indicators instead of 3 (e.g. "Loc. 680 of 1029" and "Loc. 682 of 1029"). It seems the second of the 3 shown pages has no page number indicator (in this case, "Loc. 681 of 1029").

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Open an epub file (or any format?).
2. 3 pages are shown simultaneously! Current zoom is 100% but font size is too small.
3. Increase zoom (to 110%). 2 pages are shown simultaneously.
4. Decrease zoom (back to 100%). 2 pages are still shown simultaneously, but with bigger font size than when 3 pages were shown with the "same" zoom as now (100%) !
5. Use the right arrow one or multiple times to go to the next page(s). At some point (when the next chapter of the book is reached?), Foliate reverts to showing 3 pages simultaneously with small font size (yet zoom still is 100%).
6. Instead of step 4 or 5, if I close Foliate then reopen the epub file, Foliate reverts to showing 3 pages with a zoom of 100%.

Expected behavior
2 pages are shown simultaneously, never 3 pages. Font size doesn't spontaneously change.

• Foliate version: 3.3.0
• OS/Distribution and version: Pop!_OS 22.04 jammy (x86-64)
• Desktop environment: Cinnamon 5.2.7
• Installation method: snap (from the Software app of Gnome)

Additional context
I guess this bug appeared a few days or weeks ago.
This occurs with multiple epub files.
