What I have in mind is adding custom UI elements such as buttons, context menus, drop downs etc to content elements/nodes inside the main editing area WITHOUT affecting the underlying markup that is submitted with the HTML form. This would allow for a whole set of new functionality to be implemented on top of WYMeditor adding enhanced usability and making it possible to maybe even build custom content editors that aren't even possible with 0.5.
Imagine an embedded image inside the editing area that you could remove using an "x" button at the top right corner of the box, or being able to add graphics filters to the image straight in the editing area using a drop down maybe.
Or having a "+" button at the bottom right corner of a content element for inserting new elements of the same type right next to the current/existing one.
This is just my personal opinion, but it might be something that would really set WYMeditor apart from existing editors - add a few screenshots/demo screencasts and there you go :P
