Hi JS.ORG maintainers, Is it possible to request a reassignment of a subdomain that appears to be inactive or no longer maintained by its owner? If so, what criteria do you use to consider a subdomain “unused,” and what’s the recommended process to request it (for example, do you try to contact the current owner first, and is there a waiting period)? Thanks in advance. |

We have https://github.com/js-org/js.org/wiki/Naming-Conflicts as a policy for when multiple folks request the same subdomain, however, I don't think we have a policy for an existing subdomain. We do an annual cleanup that removes subdomains that are no longer hosting valid content. Beyond that, if a subdomain is still active, I can't really think of any situation, outside an actual legal issue, where we'd remove it and grant it to someone else. |
