I did mention you in the comments to make this known, but i'd like you to know too, because for what i can see it's only a minor change from your model, which isn't allowed from your GNU licence.

lmao as much as i think the product itself is cool trying to patent pending sounds doubious at best and literal stupidity

from what I understand, the group behind this did admit they got inspiration from the 4D printer but the printer in itself is a different beast. Unlayered3D from what I understand added an additional axis (they have X,Y,Z, C,B) and the part that has changed a lot is the software and the slicer which they've built to translate a model into 5 axis g-code. We can't define what is the line between inspiration and copy this 4-axis printer and adding 1 more axis. I mean it's super cool, but in my eyes it's still building upon this amazing 4-axis 3d printer. Although i'm not a judge :)

I think it's great they made this, but trying to patent it is wrong i think. Because the licence of this 4-axis printer is: "This hardware is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3, with the following exception:

• The rights granted under this license do not include the right to Sell the hardware files or any product derived substantially from them. For purposes of this exception, "Sell" is defined as providing the hardware files or products for a fee or other consideration."

is it this one? feel like using a t-bot gantry for the X/B axis is enougu of a innovation from Joshua to warrent being acknowledged as his- seems du
oubiois. I do like the emergence of axial 3d printing software don't get me wrong, but it feels like they just added an axis to cover up its a design from a existing github project

In the video they say again, they made it from the ground up.. they said the same directly to me when i asked them on Printables. I mean how is this from the ground up. give some credit where it's due

the hardware is impressive but 5 axis machining has been a thing for a while & while they should've probably mentioned Joshua Bird, I think this is something Joshua would be happy to see (e.g. see advancements in this field). What I assume is different is their solution to non-planar slicing (from what I understand, their method is different).

they will make the slicer open-source so that's great i think, it should be usefull for for a modified joshprinter :) i'm just complaining about the "patent pending" part. me, i don't care if they will sell printers, but please don't try to patent things.

Yes this is the one i meant, They did clone from this project and another 5-axis open source slicer. But no accnoligement
