When I watched the YouTube video, especially regarding the "bridge" shape I noticed that the layers of the legs became non linear (obviously) which should increase the strength of the print due to not having well defined layers that can separate. I think we can lean on that a bit more to exploit this way of printing to maximize unidirectional strength.
The bottom surface of the overhanging edges are close to 45 degrees relative to the bottom plane while the legs are more shallow, what if we were to set the "overhang" angle that the deformation aims for for bottom surfaces to choose how much the layers should blend into each other so to say? Or have the algorithm compute the angle for each part of the bottom faces that results in the maximum overlapping "layers"?
