List active key mappings to the terminal?

ghostty has a nice feature ghostty +list-keybinds which allows you to pipe to fzf and fuzzy explore the active key mappings. I often forget my less frequently used Kitty key mappings, so it would be great to have a kitten or kitty option that could do something similar.

Thank you. I added the plugin in ~/.config/kitty/kitty-keymap.py but how do I run it so it can be piped to fzf? kitty cannot run it unless it is a mapping, trying:

kitten kitty-keymap.py
Error: kitty-keymap.py is not a known subcommand for kitten. Use --help to get a list of valid subcommands.

I also tried an absolute path. The docs https://sw.kovidgoyal.net/kitty/kittens/custom/ show that when used in a map config setting kitten can find the python script in the config folder, but this doesn't apply elsewhere?

It would still be nice if this became a default kitten, thanks for the consideration either way.

For python kittens you need to run them as

kitty +kitten path-to-kitten.py

Thanks, I tried kitty +kitten /Users/ian/.config/kitty/kitty-keymap.py (the python code is from #2164 (comment) and I did chmod +x it) but it doesn't return any text or any errors to the terminal (whereas the same script works as expected when run via map ctrl+shift+k kitten kitty-keymap.py in kitty.conf)

Then you need to ask the person that wrote the kitten to modify it, or
use one of the many others floating around, like:

or modify it yourself, its pretty simple code.

Simple is a relative term 🤣 -- I am not a python person, but my problem seems to be that handle_result is not triggered when run via kitty +kitten, only main runs. My own naive hacking nor ChatGPT passed the custom kitten docs could get it to work. Links to code on the reddit thread have all expired, so I've asked on #2164 to see if the author of the script can shed light on this...

Yes, handle_result is a callback when you run the kitten as part of the kitty process via a mapping. If you run it as a standalone program only main runs, just as in any other standalone program. You simply re-write the kitten changing main to print its results or pass them to fzf or whatever.
