Compiles without pkg-config files

Hi,
When I try to compile according to the given instructions (using git repo and not tarball), it successfully installs, albeit without the pkg-config files.
Considering that other repos (see libtatsu) ask you to simply follow the steps given with no explanation of the caveat, it is safe to say that this is unexpected behavior, since their instructions would not work.

Also these methods are put in the same place (Building section) which would imply that they have the same effect

it does install the pkg-config files. Maybe it uses a different location on your system? What platform are you on?

I am using Void Linux musl x86_64.
I think you're right--it appears to have installed to /usr/local/lib, however this is not what I want.

I think an update in documentation is in order.

It depends on your system, but /usr/local/ is a pretty standard location especially on Linux
