We are thrilled to announce the release of v2.0.0! 🚀

This is a significant milestone for our project, representing months of hard work, community feedback, and continuous improvement. We're incredibly grateful to all our contributors and users who have supported us along the way.

From June 18, 2026, all nRF9151 Connect Kits will ship with the nRF9151 SiP revision A1 (upgraded from A0 by Nordic Semiconductor), adding support for Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN). See Migrating from A0 to A1 Revision for details.

Release Highlights

Hardware Rev.A1

• Updated to nRF9151 A1 Module with NTN Support.
• No changes to schematics or PCB.

Software & Documentation

• Uses NCS v3.3.99-95ed8f7e7406.
• Refactored Interface MCU firmware to improve stability and reduce memory usage.
• Updated nRF9151 modem firmware to v2.0.4, adding support for A0 and A1 revision.
• Removed serial_lte_modem application. Will be replaced with ncs-serial-modem.
• Removed nrf_cloud_rest_device_message sample.
• Removed nrf_cloud_multi_service sample.
• Added nrf_cloud_coap_cell_location sample.
• Added nrf_cloud_coap_device_message sample.
• Added nrf_cloud_mqtt_cell_location sample.
• Added nrf_cloud_mqtt_device_message sample.
• Added system_off sample for quiescent power consumption measurement.
• Updated documentation accordingly.

• The Interface MCU (nRF52820) comes pre-programmed with:
  • UF2 Bootloader: nrf9151_connectkit_nrf52820_uf2boot-1.1.0_mbr_2.4.1.hex
  • IFMCU Firmware: nrf9151_connectkit_nrf52820_ifmcu-v2.0.0-g5c524747d4ff.uf2
• If your device fails to enter the bootloader mode somehow, use nrf9151_connectkit_nrf52820_uf2boot-1.1.0_mbr_2.4.1.hex to perform a recovery from a broken UF2 bootloader.
• update-nrf9151_connectkit_nrf52820_uf2boot-1.1.0_mbr_2.4.1.uf2 serves as a recovery image to roll back from other versions in case of issues.
• The nRF9151 SiP comes pre-programmed with:
  • Application: nrf9151_connectkit_nrf9151_mosh-v3.3.99-95ed8f7e7406.hex
  • Modem Firmware: mfw_nrf91x1_2.0.4.zip
