I would like to propose adding support for the Uzbek language (uz) to Visual Studio Code.
VS Code is widely used by developers, students, and IT professionals in Uzbekistan due to its accessibility, rich extension ecosystem, and strong support for modern development workflows. An Uzbek language pack would make the editor more approachable for beginners and help lower the barrier to entry for new programmers who are more comfortable using Uzbek.
Some reasons to consider Uzbek support:
- Uzbek is spoken by tens of millions of people.
- Uzbekistan's software development and IT education sectors are growing rapidly.
- VS Code is one of the most commonly used code editors among local developers and students.
- Localization could improve accessibility for new learners and educational institutions.
I am interested in contributing to the translation effort and helping coordinate community feedback and review if Uzbek support is being considered.
Could you please share the requirements and process for proposing a new official language pack and whether the VS Code localization team is currently accepting requests for additional languages?
