Description

@morrownr

The idea behind the new newly supported mt76 repo is to give us a place to rapidly test patches.

https://github.com/morrownr/mt76

What are the advantages?

  • Testers do not have to be wireless devs to be able to test. Simple installation should allow users to install and work on testing rapidly.

  • This repo should usually be ahead of the stable Linux kernel. Right now, if you need mt7902 support, it is in this series of drivers whereas the driver will only go into kernel 7.1 and this is several weeks down the road for a stable release.

  • This repo will update the mt76 firmware files on your system so that you do not need to worry with it.

All that you need to help with testing is an adapter or card that has a modern Mediatek chipset such as mt7925, mt7922, mt7921, mt7902, mt7612 or mt7610. There are more but you get the idea.

Your help getting this repo up to speed will be appreciated.
