USB Wi-Fi adapter is causing a POST hang Ubuntu 26.04

Not sure if this is an Ubuntu problem or if it's this driver.

I'm using an Archer TX50UH usb adapter on an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz with a GeForce GTX 970 card. Nouveau driver.

The POST hang ends when I disconnect the adapter.

Thanks for understanding. I have been doing some work on the driver today. I'd like for you to try it just to make sure I did not fix your problem... no need to bug hunt if I fixed it inadvertently. Run:

git pull
sudo sh install-driver.sh

Ok, I git pulled and installed. I did not edit options file.
Also modprobed. No change.

Okay, the driver is installed. It is as if your system is not recognizing the device.

How about the out put of:

lsusb

The out[ut of that command could be key.

USB adapters with the rtl8852/32cu chips seem to have more problems than normal when the adapter has onboard flash that stores a windows driver. That is why there are zero adapters that use onboard flash in The Plug and Play List:

Last questions for now: have you installed any other drivers? Were you aware that you should not require a driver for Ubuntu 26.04 as there is a driver already in kernel 7.0?
