macOS menu bar icon should be focused while Mullvad app is open

Is it a bug?

• I know this is an issue with the app, and contacting Mullvad support is not relevant.

I have checked if others have reported this already

Current Behavior

Clicking the Mullvad VPN app menu bar icon opens the app, but the focus indicator (grey-ish padded area around the menu bar icon) is only shown for a brief moment, and then disappears as if the menu was not currently open.

Expected Behavior

The menu bar icon should be focused while the application is open.

Steps to Reproduce

Click menu bar icon to open Mullvad VPN app.

Operating system version

macOS 25.6

Mullvad VPN app version

2026.2

Thanks, this looks like a UI bug. I've created an issue in our internal issue tracker to look into this. We'll get back to you when we've investigated/fixed the issue.
