PyPI 2.3.4 crashes with KeyError: 'container' while current main works correctly #605

Description

Description

I encountered a reproducible crash when using the PyPI release (2.3.4) of GHunt.

Authentication succeeds correctly, but running ghunt email against valid Google accounts causes a crash with:

KeyError: 'container'

Environment

  • OS: Kali Linux (WSL2)
  • Python: 3.13.12
  • Installation method: pipx
  • GHunt version: 2.3.4

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install GHunt from PyPI
pipx install ghunt
  1. Authenticate successfully
ghunt login
  1. Query a valid Google account
ghunt email <valid@gmail.com>

Expected behavior

Display account information.

Actual behavior

The command crashes with:

Traceback (most recent call last):
...
KeyError: 'container'

The crash occurs in:

ghunt/parsers/people.py

self.coverPhotos[cover_photo_data["metadata"]["container"]] = person_cover_photo

Investigation

I cloned the current GitHub repository and tested the exact same command.

The current main branch works correctly when executed from a local clone.

The difference is that the current repository contains:

container = cover_photo_data.get("metadata", {}).get("container", "unknown")
self.coverPhotos[container] = person_cover_photo

whereas the PyPI release still contains:

self.coverPhotos[cover_photo_data["metadata"]["container"]] = person_cover_photo

It looks like the fix is already present on the repository but has not yet been published to PyPI.

Thanks for the great project! 🙂
