How to update to Nextcloud Hub 10 now?

If you don't want to wait for AIO getting updated to Nextcloud 31 for everyone in the near future, you can upgrade to Nextcloud 31 already now by following these steps:

1. First, open the aio interface and create a backup and start your containers again after the backup is successful.

2. Afterwards, run via CLI:

# Go into the container
sudo docker exec --user www-data -it nextcloud-aio-nextcloud bash

3. Now inside the container:

# Switch to the beta channel
php occ config:system:set updater.release.channel --value=beta

# Run the update
php updater/updater.phar --no-interaction --no-backup && php occ app:enable nextcloud-aio --force

# Switch back to the stable channel
php occ config:system:set updater.release.channel --value=stable

# Show the updatenoficiation status:
php occ config:system:set updatechecker --type=bool --value=true

# Exit the container
exit

The above instructions should upgrade you to Nextcloud 31. You might need to follow the steps a second time to reach Nextcloud 31. If something goes wrong, feel free to restore the backup.

I installed with portainer. I have tried updating the stack and repulling the images but no luck. I am using image: nextcloud/all-in-one:latest. Any suggestions for me?

When do we expect AIO to push 31? I just updated to 10.7.0 AIO, and it is still on Hub 9.

I know I can follow your steps above, but was just curious.

Hi @szaimen,

Please update the instructions that you not only need to use these instructions for a major update (early access to a new HUB version), but also for point updates as the update mechanism in the gui will not work until official release of the HUB version.

After following the steps above, I am now on this version: Nextcloud Hub 9 (30.0.10 RC1).

I have applied the above steps a second time and now I am on this version: Nextcloud Hub 10 (31.0.4 RC1).

I also had to run this twice on a nearly fresh install.

1. I selected the option download Hub 10 on the initial setup, but I still ended up with Hub 9.
2. I installed quite a lot of apps to test them out (should have done the update first but it's a good stress test! 😅).
3. I followed the instructions above then exited the docker shell
4. I was shown this screen:

4. I restarted the main AIO container, but the screen still showed. Then I logged into the AIO admin and restarted all the containers there, and I could access the main Nextcloud site again but still at v30.0.9.

5. I ran through the instructions above again and success! I am now at v31.0.4 🚀 (it doesn't say RC1, just "This Nextcloud is on version 31.0.4")
