How to update to Nextcloud Hub 25 Autumn now?

If you don't want to wait for AIO getting updated to Nextcloud 32 for everyone in the near future, you can upgrade to Nextcloud 32 already now by following these steps:

1. First, open the aio interface and create a backup and start your containers again after the backup is successful.

2. Afterwards, run via CLI:

# Go into the container
sudo docker exec --user www-data -it nextcloud-aio-nextcloud bash

3. Now inside the container:

# Switch to the beta channel
php occ config:system:set updater.release.channel --value=beta

# Run the update
php updater/updater.phar --no-interaction --no-backup && php occ app:enable nextcloud-aio --force

# Switch back to the stable channel
php occ config:system:set updater.release.channel --value=stable

# Show the updatenoficiation status:
php occ config:system:set updatechecker --type=bool --value=true

# Exit the container
exit

The above instructions should upgrade you to Nextcloud 32. You might need to follow the steps a second time to reach Nextcloud 32. If something goes wrong, feel free to restore the backup.

just roll back to a backup, i experienced other issues and rolled back as it seems lots of apps aren't compatible yet. give it a few weeks and should be in good shape

What helped me was disabling the Talk container, then starting all other containers without it, and finally enabling Talk again. However, there are still issues with the Talk Recorder container — the recording just won’t work.

This just does not work. First of all the commands seem to need to be run as www-data. Second I get all kinds of fatal memory_limit exceeeded errors, even when I rewrite all command with php -d memory_limit=-1 .... And then after five restarts of the updater script the updater does not start anymore, Upgraded Nextcloud then sort of works but complains about missing database indexes, cannot connect to Redis, etcetera. I restored by backup and will await better instructions than these.

I would suggest to restore from Backup the old Version and wait until Nextcloud Hub 25 is stable for Nextcloud AIO on your productive instances.

It’s not compatible with this version yet, so it’s important to check whether the apps are compatible before upgrading.
You can allow it as an untested app under the disabled apps and then activate it. It worked for me with the Pass app for testing purposes.

I just now updated from 31.0.9 to 32.0.0 (stable) aka "Nextcloud Hub 25 Autumn".

I ran the ...updater.phar... command on the stable channel, without changing to beta. It seemed to have worked fine. All containers and apps OK. Talk works, including calls/recording.

Just some comments but I think they matter

1. The naming conventions (lotto?) is very confusing. All the current hype is "Nextcloud Hub 25 Autumn" and in this thread it seems to be referred to as Nextcloud 32. At the same time my instance shows me at Nextcloud Hub 10 / 31.0.10. I honestly think it would help to have a definitive release name and be consistent. Humbly suggest NextCloud Hub 2510 for consideration.

2. My master container page says "if you haven't upgraded to Hub 25 Autumn yet" follow the instructions here - surely it should know my current release and only tell me to go here if I haven't.

3. So, clearly I have not as I'm < NC 32 but then I come here. The instructions seem clear and then I scroll down the thread - significant issues with Talk and (maybe) other apps so I will not be doing any forced update. I strongly doubt that significant issues haven't been addressed yet, but an update in this thread would maybe be a good idea.

4. In the remote chance there are still issues, maybe remove the link to this thread from master container.

Looking forward to the new update as NC is improving each time, but the naming issue has always bothered me tbh :-)

Oh and also on the positive side - AIO is really the way to go - I wish other apps (looking at you Matrix/Element) would follow suit.

Two weeks ago I could see in my admin overview page what apps are awaiting an update. I must have changed something, because since last weekend (25-10) I can not see this anymore.

How can I get this back, before forcing the update using the above instructions?
