Feature summary

First of all, v5 is a huge improvement. Startup time is almost instant compared to the Quickshell version, memory usage is much lower, and the overall responsiveness is excellent.

However, one feature from v4 is missing that I relied on every day: Performance Mode.

In v4, I could enable a single performance toggle before launching a game. It would automatically disable or reduce expensive visual effects (animations, blur, backdrops, wallpapers, and other rendering-heavy features). After gaming, I could simply turn it off again.

In v5, the individual settings still exist, but changing several options manually every time is much less convenient than a single toggle.

Could you consider bringing back a global Performance Mode that temporarily applies a lightweight visual profile and restores the previous settings when disabled?

This is especially useful for users on laptops or anyone who wants to maximize FPS while gaming without permanently sacrificing the desktop experience.

Thanks for all the work on v5!

Motivation / use case

Maximize FPS in games without sacrificing the desktop experience

Proposed solution

Just like in the 4th version of Noctalia.

Performance Mode should automatically disable or reduce resource-intensive visual effects (animations, blur, backdrops, wallpapers, etc.) and restore the previous settings when turned off.

It would also be great if all audio visualizers in bars were automatically disabled while Performance Mode is enabled. They use a small amount of CPU, and I'd like to keep them enabled normally without having to disable them manually before launching a game.
