Modules/Plugins

We really need the option to expand on this using modules/plugins.

All this needs to be seperate from the Odysseus core so we really need a framework for this. This way the core can be kept simple and up to date, all other extra bells and whistles can then be downloaded separately from the core.
I see a lot of feature requests and am worried that without a module/plugin framework, it's just going to end up in a bloated core.

There exists a proposal for this already. The security has to be pretty careful though especially with remote download.

Thanks for bringing this up.

I agree that a plugin/module system could help keep the core cleaner, but this overlaps with the existing proposals in #415 and #416. The big thing here is security, especially around remote downloads, permissions, and what plugins are allowed to execute.

I’ll close this one for now as a duplicate so the discussion can stay focused in the existing threads.
