Interactive Drag-and-Drop Display Manager & Monitor Positioning Plugin for Omarchy Shell

I built an interactive display positioning and arrangement extension plugin for omarchy-shell / Quickshell, designed to give a fluid, Windows-style visual drag-and-drop monitor layout experience in Omarchy and Hyprland.

Motivation

Configuring multi-monitor setups (especially non-standard or offset displays like lower drawing tablets, stacked screens, or off-center monitors) manually via ~/.config/hypr/monitors.lua can feel clunky. I wanted a native top-bar widget that lets users visually drag displays to their exact physical positions, swap display roles/workspaces, and have changes persist automatically.

Features

• Interactive Drag & Drop Canvas: Click and freely drag connected displays around in real-time on a visual mini-map to position them anywhere.
• Magnetic Snapping: Automatically snaps cleanly to center alignments, left/right edges, and top/bottom borders.
• Auto-Persistence: Writes exact coordinates directly to ~/.config/hypr/monitors.lua and updates Hyprland live (hyprctl keyword monitor ...) the moment you release the mouse.
• Display Role & Numbering: Swap primary, secondary, and so on display assignments and workspace bindings with one click.
• Complete Control Suite: Retains brightness slider, UI text scaling, display scale presets, and monitor toggles.
