Goal

Turn contributor-credit discovery into a recurring process for recognizing current and historical Open Austin volunteers, with clear handoffs between Engagement, Communications, Product Teams, and Infrastructure.

• Manually collect current volunteer hours.
• Review and update the website’s active-contributor list from the Operationalize contributor credit across website, repos, and shoutouts #483 audit.
• Draft reusable contributor-spotlight inputs and templates.
• Define what information Engagement and Product Teams provide to Communications.

Next

• Establish a recurring collection, review, and Communications handoff cadence.
• Begin short information-gathering conversations for contributor spotlights.
• Assess whether volunteer-hour collection should be supported through Explore a lightweight way to track members and contributors #506.

Later

• Determine how historical contributors should be recorded and published.
• Publish bounded contributor spotlights and evaluate the workflow.
• Split concrete website, automation, or Communications production work into implementation issues when needed.

Done when

• One recognition cycle has been completed.
• The owner, cadence, required inputs, and Communications handoff are documented.
• Current contributors are represented accurately on the relevant website page.
• Follow-up implementation work has an explicit home rather than returning to closed discovery issue Operationalize contributor credit across website, repos, and shoutouts #483.
