How to actually download offline area

Hi.
I was wondering how can I actually download the area of interest. I see that it's available on the web app but how I can use it offline, on my laptop?
In Qgis I have the possibility of downloading areas using MBTiles option but here I think it's a bit confusing. Can you help me?

Visit the https://web.geolibre.app. There should be an install icon to the right of the address bar. Click on it to install the app.

Then navigate to your area of interest, go to Project - Download Offline Area.

Disconnect the Internet to verify the the basemap loads.

Got it, thanks. So I can not actually use the downloaded file with a portable GeoLibre App, to an offline environment.

But to actually download a certain area in the MBTiles format, like Qgis has the option called Generate XYZ tiles (MBTiles) (Generates XYZ tiles of map canvas content and saves them as an MBTiles file) do I have to submit a Request or this functionality is already there in the app?

The offline basemap functionality has been redesigned. It now supports both the web and desktop versions.

Go to Project - Offline Basemap...

It will be available in the next release sometime next week. You can build from source if you want to use it before the release.
