GeoLibre Desktop is now on the Mac App Store!

Mac users can install GeoLibre with a single click: signed, sandboxed, and auto-updating, straight from the App Store. No Terminal, no Gatekeeper prompt, no quarantine workaround.

GeoLibre is a free and open-source, cloud-native GIS platform for visualizing, exploring, and analyzing geospatial data, and it runs everywhere you do: in the browser, on the desktop, on mobile, and inside Jupyter notebooks. Your data stays local and private.

The Store build is the same app, and everything that runs client-side runs there: MapLibre and deck.gl rendering, DuckDB-WASM Spatial, the SQL Workspace, and the full toolbox of 1,000+ geoprocessing tools that execute in the browser on WebAssembly, with no server and no Python to install.

One honest note: the App Store requires the sandbox, so the Store build leaves out the optional Python sidecar engines, server-backed PostgreSQL/PostGIS layers, the local Jupyter server, Earth Engine sign-in, and installing external plugins. If you need those, the Homebrew cask and the notarized DMG are still there and still the full-feature route:
