[Feature]: Support for KML Super-Overlays dataset #1598

Description

Before you start

What problem does this solve?

I’m truly impressed by the remarkable development speed of GeoLibre. It shows tremendous potential as a successor to Google Earth Pro.

With that in mind, I would like to propose support for importing KML Super-Overlay data, one of Google Earth Pro’s most important features. That function can provide large file size imagery sharing on local machine. Very easy.

Proposed solution

This type of KML uses a pyramid structure of tiled KML files, combining the standard GroundOverlay raster definition with Region elements and NetworkLink settings.

I’m attaching a sample dataset of KML Super-Overlays that I created. If this feature is implemented, even more tasks previously done in Google Earth Pro will be able to migrate to GeoLibre.

Estimated scope

Medium: a broader feature that is feasible in a reasonable timeframe

Alternatives considered

I think Medium or Wishlist. Until June 25, 2027, when the distribution of Google Earth Pro ends.
