In openHAB, when creating an MQTT Thing and defining a custom channel and use user-defined definition for example status, trans, or any other name instead of for example using stateTopic, the Thing configuration file does load correctly.
Steps to Reproduce
Create an MQTT Thing in openHAB
Define a channel with a custom topic name definition like status, trans
Do not define stateTopic
Load or deploy the Thing configuration
Expected Behavior
The MQTT Thing should not load correctly with user definitions
Actual Behavior
The Thing file load and runs normally when a custom definition is used
Workaround
Defining stateTopic allows the Thing to load and function normally.
Environment
openHAB
MQTT Binding
Additional Notes
This appears to be an issue with channel handling in the MQTT binding when custom definitions are defined.
