Selecting DLSS in the game's graphics options instantly crashes the game with a UE4 fatal error:
LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line: 578]
CommandList->Close() failed at
C:/J_noAV/ONION_BM_ART_PC/UE4/Engine/Source/Runtime/D3D12RHI/Private/D3D12CommandList.cpp:138
with error E_INVALIDARG
This appears to be a regression: reverting to v0.9.0 with identical settings and the same game version works correctly (DLSS input -> FSR4 output on RDNA4).
Steps to reproduce:
- Install OptiScaler v0.9.3-final via Setup.bat (dxgi.dll, DLSS inputs = Yes) in HellbladeGame\Binaries\Win64
- Launch game in DX12 mode, load a save
- Switch upscaler to DLSS in graphics options
- Instant crash with the error above
Additional info:
- Overlay (v0.9.3) shows: nvngx replacement: Exists, libxess: Exists, FSR 3.1: Exists — interception works.
- OptiScaler.log shows the upscaler feature is created and initialized without errors, and the very last logged line is "NVSDK_NGX_D3D12_EvaluateFeature Upscaling done: true". The game crashes immediately after the first evaluate, when the engine closes the command list.
- Output Scaling and RCAS passes were active in the crashing session ("OS_Dx12 Output Scaling start!", "RCAS start!").
- Early log shows "[E] FSR4ModelSelection::Hook Couldn't hook model selection" on first attempt; second attempt succeeds.
- Tried on v0.9.3 without success: RestoreComputeSignature=true and RestoreGraphicSignature=true.
- Display: 2560x1440, HDR enabled (IsHdr: true in log).
