Description of issue

LibreWolf will be deprecated from September onwards.

Now installing it via akdev1l/apps I thought to extend that but what ever I do it keeps installing librewolf via the official source. How can I install via akdev1l and not via the main. Or will the one in akdev1l also be deprecated?

To install something from a third party tap that shadows something in one of our official taps, you need to specify the tap. brew install akdev1/apps/librewolf is probably what you're after. Third-party taps are not managed by the Homebrew team, so anything happening in that tap is up to the author.

No, it's showing you details from the core cask because you didn't qualify the cask name:-

To be clear, any time you want to reference a tap cask or formula that shadows one in our official repos, you have to fully qualify the name like @gromgit posted above.

I have tried it many times

uninstalled Librewolf
installed it via akdev1l and still the info shows up that it is the main one that is installed.

But no worries. I have solved it by uninstalling it and installing librewolf via the DMG on their site, will do manual checks for update as that was the only reason why i was using homebrew.
