Driver for CrateDB

Hi, I'm an engineer from CrateDB, I'd love to get an adbc driver, we are postgres-wire compatible meaning we could easily start off with the postgres' and work from there.

Ideally I'd love to contribute myself, are you guys open to that kind of contributions?

Hi @surister,

We've done some minimal testing of CrateDB using the PostgreSQL driver and confirmed that query execution works. You can find quickstart examples for C++, Go, Python, R, and Rust in the columnar-tech/adbc-quickstarts repository.

Note that when using CrateDB with the PostgreSQL driver, you must set the adbc.postgresql.use_copy statement option to false. This has two implications:

• The PostgreSQL driver may perform slowly with CrateDB.
• The PostgreSQL driver cannot be used with CrateDB in Java, since the Java driver manager does not support statement options.

Thank you very much for testing CrateDB with the PostgreSQL driver. Let me reference the ticket where we are tracking support for PostgreSQL's COPY command, probably needed for use_copy. Upvotes are much appreciated.
